Data protection information for the Candidate Exchange of the DHBW Heidenheim

Introduction

This data protection information explains the details about collection, processing and storage of personal information.

Applicants’ consent for data processing

Candidates consent to collection, processing and storage of their personal data and access by personnel of training partners of the DHBW Heidenheim as well as administrators of the DHBW Heidenheim by the creation of a candidate profile and continued use of this offer as described in the following segments.

Visibility for all dual education system partners

Candidates can optionally report one or more desired fields of study, but these fields can also be left empty. With the use of the Candidate Exchange, the candidates consent for their candidate profile to be visible to all dual education system partners, that do not offer the desired fields of study (if provided), so that all partner companies  can potentially contact them with an offer. The intention of this is to draw attention to interesting offers of fields of study for the candidates and to demonstrate their interest in collaboration with partner companies.

Consent for data processing by the dual education system partners

By use of the offered company business profile and the registration on the website, the representatives of the dual education system partner companies consent to the collection, processing and storage of their personal data by administrators of the DHBW Heidenheim as described in the following segments.

In addition, the registered employees of the partner companies have access to the data of the candidates. They can search the candidate profiles by means of various criteria; can ask to have suitable profiles displayed and can have a message sent to suitable candidates.  In no event shall personal data be transmitted to third parties, in particular not for advertising purposes.

Where are the data processed?

The processing of personal data is exclusively performed in the Federal Republic of Germany.
Since this is an offer that is freely available on the Internet, it cannot be ruled out that access to personal data of candidates can happen in other countries if employees of the partner companies are located abroad.

How is access to the personal data protected?
Access to personal data requires indication of valid login information.  Registration and transmission of personal data to the recipient’s browser are encrypted (https); state of the art encryption methods are used. In particular, non-secure encryption methods such as SSL v3 are deactivated.

Difference between deactivation and deletion of the candidate profile

Cookies

Cookies are small files that are stored on your computing device and that contain information connected to the use of the web offer.  This website uses session cookies that are only valid for the current session and are deleted after logging out or closing of the browser. If you deactivate the setting of cookies in your browser, only very limited use of this offer is possible since no registration can be performed in this case.

Statistical assessments

This website uses the Piwik tool to create statistical assessments about visits to the individual pages. The purpose is to optimize the offer by means of these assessments. However, the last two positions of your IP address are deleted so that no personal reference is possible. Piwik uses so-called First Party Cookies for assessment; this means that cookies are set for the

web address of the Candidate Exchange, because Piwik is executed completely locally. No data transmissions are performed. In addition, the searches of the partner companies are statistically assessed. This is so that tips for the candidates can be derived to optimize their profiles. All of the assessments are exclusively performed on the servers of the DHBW Heidenheim; no data are transmitted to external servers.
